I’m just looking at the form, which names Judaism. It’s true it doesn’t have a separate box, but it is listed among the other minority religions. Given the number of Jews in Australia, it is located exactly where it should be. Arguing otherwise is just an ideological rant.
Thanks Murray. I see things different, but understand your logic. I’m sympathetic to the practice of treating Jews with care at this time, but making them a special group on the census (even though they aren’t in the top 10 religious groups) isn’t the way to do it.
I’ve just checked the ABS.gov.au website re the 2026 census, and it appears to me that Judaism is still included.
According to this https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/research/2026-census-topics-and-data-release-plan, Judaism doesn't appear. (unless they have subsequently changed the drop box options)
